Winter Trends We're Loving

It's officially winter here in Atlanta {hence the current 15 degree, feels like 3 degrees temperature}. My hubby and I actually poured water on our front porch last night, and timed it to take 37 SECONDS to freeze to a solid sheet of ice! Yes, we are nerds. But nevertheless, it is COLD! But that doesn't mean you have to frump around in sweatshirts and ugg boots this winter; LIFE.STYLED. is sharing our favorite winter trends with you for the cold weather months ahead :: 1) Tartan : A colorful, versatile pattern that can go from day to night, casual to dressy, tartan is one of our favorite trends this winter. And, we're loving it for both the ladies and the men alike! Pair with jeans and flats or booties for a casual look, or tuck into a skirt and add a blazer and heels for a night out.

2) Mixing & Matching Prints : Don't be afraid to mix patterns and prints; it is not a fashion faux-pas as long as it's done right! The key is making sure the two patterns are not so similar that they are competing, and that one pattern is bolder, while the other is more understate. Two of my favorite combos are :: leopard & stripes, and stripes & polka dots.

3) Blush : Let's face it - unless you live in South Florida, we are all PALE during the winter! Many women think that if they are pale-skinned, they can't wear blush tones. But don't rule it out; blush can be a very flattering, pastel color in the winter months and works with almost every skintone. Try pairing a blush top with some dark plum or army green corduroys, or skinny black pants. You can tone down the paleness in your skin by adding a patterned scarf, such as leopard or floral that picks up the tone of the blush.

But blush isn't just for your wardrobe; blush is a great color for pale winter skin in your makeup palette; whether it be blush to add a bit of color to your cheeks, or as a part of your eyeshadow palette. This color will add warmth to your face.

4) Vests : Vests will be your best friend in the winter; the accessory that you can grab and throw on with almost any outfit. Whether it's a fur vest or a puff vest, you will find yourself reaching for it almost daily. Pair over dresses, flowy blouses, and even casual tees and button-ups. I'm loving my fur vest paired over casual chambray.
