My long-overdue fall photo shoot last night brought lots of outfit inspiration, and the chance to shoot in my new neighborhood! I think you're going to love the looks I'll be bringing you in the next few weeks. But for today :: Skirts can be tricky in the fall. Finding the right cut and weight is key, and knowing how to pair it perfectly up top can really make an outfit. I love this very fall-ish outfit from Loft {SALE ALERT!! 50% off EVERYTHING today}.
This camel skirt is figure-flattering on all body types with a flare / skater cut and a high waist. Simply tuck in your favorite silky blouse {like this olive green one, on super sale!}. And, if you're not so crazy about your mid-section or you don't do well with tucking, add a cardigan over the top to bring it all together while also eliminating "fidgeting" with your tucking. Of course, I love this subtle leopard print relaxed cardi.
Pair your skirt with riding boots like these classic Sam Edelmans. I love the asymmetrical top of these boots and think that makes them slightly more leg-elongating than a straight across.
Pair with a fun necklace and you're good to go! From work, to play, night to day.
Another tip that I always fill my clients in on - take the sleeves of your blouse and roll them over your cardigan sleeves. Roll or push your sleeves up a little below your elbow; Pushed up sleeves look less boxy and more feminine and relaxed.
Stay tuned into the blog tomorrow to find out what my handbag essentials are!
