lifestyled goes lifestyle

Happy Thursday! Today I have an exciting tidbit of news to share; Many of you have been following along for awhile now and I've gotten multiple inquiries about my home, interior design tips, hair + beauty questions and more. So, I've decided to expand the scope of the blog and take it to more of a "lifestyle" level, rather than solely focusing on fashion. Not to worry, fashionistas -- the majority of my posts will continue to revolve around style, sharing my favorite things, tips and tutorials and wardrobe must-haves. I'll just be throwing in some home decor ideas + tips, beauty secrets, DIY projects and favorite everyday items as well!

So let's start with a recent DIY project Harrison and I took on. For those of you who don't know, we bought a 1962 fixer-upper in September. Almost every weekend since has been spent on home renovations, DIY projects, sprucing up and more. All of these home inspiration posts are ones that I've experienced firsthand.

A little bit of grasscloth can go a long way! I love the way grasscloth wallpaper can transform a space from regular to upscale in a jiff. It looks amazing in bathrooms, on accent walls and even as a background in built-ins. We chose to use it on an  accent wall in our breakfast nook and only needed about 3/4 of a roll. On such a small space, it's a cheap and {fairly} easy project!

This 'Before + After' was taken right after we finished initial renovations and moved in. We were using our existing furniture which was too dark for the space, and the original light fixture {which wasn't centered over the table!} It was a HUGE improvement from when we bought the house, but not up to par with the vision I had for this space.

I love the gray color of this because it gives a cool, modern and clean feel.

This is a gray faux grasscloth wallpaper made of vinyl, which not only makes it less expensive, but ideal for places like bathrooms where there might be a lot of moisture. I ordered off Amazon, which is a GREAT place to find certain wallpaper at the lowest prices.

The wall didn't need much after adding the grasscloth, so I ditched the shelving I had before and just stuck with framed art {I love a good mirrored frame}

Shop some of my other favorite grasscloth wallpapers and give it a try! I'd love to see your results.
