What I'm Wearing for Thanksgiving

What? Two blog posts in one day?! I know, I know... I'm feeling a super productive streak as the holidays approach next week and I'm trying my best to create as much content for you as possible! Today I am sharing what I'm wearing for Thanksgiving, because if you're stuck on what to wear, it's not too late for some inspiration & ordering! My Thanksgiving attire will be a little different this year, because I'll be in Palm Springs, California. Nevertheless, it's supposed to be cooler at night there so I didn't have to modify my outfit too much, but I'll share what I would change if I were dressing for cold weather too.

I LOVE this skirt. It's metallic but not TOO metallic - almost like a soft sueded with metallic flecks. Under $100, this is perfect year-round and especially around the holidays.

Since I'll be in the desert, I'm wearing these velvet slide sandals. If I were home, I'd be doing my black suede booties or otk boots.

Depending on the weather, I'll most likely wear this lace-trimmed short-sleeved top and possibly my black leather jacket. The most important thing to note is that you have to do a half tuck in the front... just tuck the front portion of the shirt in and let the rest fall over in the back.

If I were home, I'd most definitely be wearing one of these wrap bodysuits... So easy for wearing with skirts (no fussing!), SO soft and very flattering wrap shape.

For accessories, I love these festive ribbon-wrapped hoops. Everyone knows I love a good pop of color, so I could also go with something bold. These are amazing and they're on sale! Burgundy is also a perfect pop of color for Thanksgiving.

Perfect for the Holidays : The Lace Midi Dress

Happy Monday! I can't believe how quickly November is flying by. With the holidays fast-approaching, I thought I'd share the perfect dress for all your holiday occasions. You've seen this trend sweeping through blogs, magazines etc. over the last couple months and I decided to give it a go myself. I am usually not a "midi" length type of person because I feel like it can be unflattering, but I love the way the lace overlay is see through so it's not necessarily cutting you off at the middle of your calf. Plus, the neckline & waist are flattering on just about anyone!

This dress is perfect for so many occasions - Christmas parties, cocktail parties, weddings, a night out at the theatre, fancy girl's night, fancy date night, New Year's Eve, the list goes on and on. I paired it with my favorite leather jacket to make it a little bit more edgy / casual, and you could also put a fur stole with it, a cozy wrap, or even a blazer.
leopard pumps | bracelet | earrings

The Self-Portrait version of this dress is a major splurge at $500, but lucky for you there are SO many lookalikes out there, like the one I'm wearing. I've found this dress at all budget points, in SO many colors (I especially love the burgundy for the holidays!), at different retailers; ranging from under $25, up to $100! So if you've been wanting to try out this trend, I've got them all linked at the bottom of the post.

Happy Holiday Shopping!
Later this week on the blog, I'll be sharing my holiday decor, favorites from Magnolia's Hearth & Home line, a Like to Know it tutorial for those who've been asking, and what I'm wearing for Thanksgiving. Stay tuned!

Fall Trend : Chenille

Happy Thursday! Even though temperatures are climbing a bit here in Atlanta, I wanted to share this amazing chenille sweater because it has already gone out of stock and been restocked once! Chenille, if you haven't noticed, is super trendy this fall -- and I'm fully on board with it! The fabric is SO soft and cozy, perfect for cuddling up on a cold night while still looking chic. This tunic sweater from Anthropologie is one of my favorites and every time I've worn it I've gotten so many compliments! The golden wheat color is so pretty and I love the hemline that rises on the sides and falls in the front and back; perfect for leggings.
*Disclaimer - it is very oversized. I am wearing a small in these photos but actually ended up going down to an XS because it felt too big in my arms!

As customary in the fall and winter for me, I paired it with my pixie pants and my over-the-knee black boots.

They're all linked below, as well as some more chenille favorites in stores now!

Easy Cozy Fall Look

Happy FRIDAY! Today I'm sharing this easy, cozy fall look that's sure to be on repeat as the days and nights get chillier. You can most likely re-create this in your closet, but I absolutely LOVE the pieces I'm wearing and they are all fall/winter staples in my opinion. So if you don't have a) pixie pants, b) a cozy tunic-length sweater, or c) over-the-knee black boots, you may want to do some shopping on this chilly Friday!

I am all about COMFORT. So when I tried this cozy sweater on and found that it was actually flattering, I snagged it up. I roll the collar down twice (it's quite large) and I'm wearing an XS. Can we talk about the color? It's dreamy.

I paired it with my forever beloved pixie pants (JCrew has come out with a new version of the Pixie Pant this year called the Any Day Ponte Pant. So, if you never got the pixies, you can get these) and these black suede OTK boots which I wear ALL THE TIME in the winter. They are super comfortable, have a little bit of a heel. I also love the way my rose gold jewelry pops off this emerald green sweater. I am always a fan of rose gold!

The wrap dress is flattering, currently very on-trend (although I believe it will never go out of style) and oh-so feminine! Perfect for daytime with flats or sandals, nighttime with some heels or booties, and perfect for fall with a leather jacket.

Currently Loving

Happy Hump Day! Halfway through the week so let's celebrate. I'm sharing some things that I'm currently loving right now!

The PERFECT leather jacket from the Nordstrom sale. I'm talking really perfect.

Panama Hat. Perfect for bad hair days - which there are a lot of in this miserable humidity!

You all know I have a love affair with statement earrings, especially tassels. How about tassel earrings for as low as $9.99? When you're addicted to these things like I am and want approximately 20 different colors, you can't afford to spend a lot of money. I was super impressed with the quality and the shipping speed of this etsy shop! SO many colors and styles.

These booties from the Nordstrom sale that can be worn as slide-ons or booties

Better Than Sex mascara. SO GOOD.

This cute chambray dress from J.Crew.

These cutie pom pom pillows

This doggy tea towel

These fringe block heels!

Navy + Nautical

TGIF! I hope everyone had a great Fourth of July. We are back from the beach and I'm feeling rested and ready to tackle some fun projects during the remainder of the summer! If you're local in Atlanta, don't forget to join me TONIGHT at Kendra Scott Avalon for a fun shopping party! Pop in anytime between 5-7 for sips, sweets and 15% off - including the launch of Kendra Scott HOME items! I'd love to see new & old faces there to kick off the weekend!

Tomorrow we start a fun kitchen project with The Home Depot, so I'll be sharing progress on Insta-stories and a full reveal on the blog next week. Stay tuned! Today, I'm sharing all things navy + nautical. I always love navy, but find myself wearing a lot of it in the summer months especially. It seems like black is too dark and harsh for the summer, and navy is the perfect in-between color. It also goes hand-in-hand with everything nautical, which never goes out of style.

I recently invested in a navy purse, which I had never had before since I wear so much black most of the year. If you're looking for a great bag that's not too light and not too dark, navy is your best bet! I've linked all my favorite navy bags below.

Now let's talk nautical. It is such a classic look and I love to incorporate pops of nautical / prep into my wardrobe. Although my overall style is not preppy, I think hints of stripes, anchors, gingham etc. are so much fun! I've linked all my favorite navy & nautical items below, too.

AND - today is the LAST DAY to take advantage of the 4th of July Sale! I am raising my prices at the end of the summer, so this is one of the last sales that will apply to current pricing. 15% off with code REDWHITEBLUE.
*Services purchased are redeemable for one year from purchase date.

Have a great weekend!

xx, Courtney

Gingham + The Perfect Pop of Color

Happy Hump Day! I am counting down the days until we leave for the beach for a long weekend vaca. Today I'm sharing some of my favorite wardrobe staples -- gingham + colored jeans. I always suggest that my clients have a colored jean in their closet, aside from denim, white & black. For summer, gray and green (some of my go-to's for fall) seem to dark and heavy. So when I stumbled across these poppy red skinnies, I fell in love! They go with so much and are the perfect bright pop - a great alternative to your basic white or denim.

A trend I totally jumped on board with? Gingham (you probably already know this by now if you follow me here or on Instagram). It's totally on-trend this season, but gingham is such a classic pattern that I feel like it will never go out of style. I was shopping with a client and found this off-the-shoulder gingham top with flirty bell sleeves. After she tried it on, I had to snag it too! #twinning. I have worn it with just about everything under the sun; bright colored shorts (front tucked in) like these, white jeans, denim shorts and flip flops for a casual look, and heels & a skirt for a nighttime look. You get the jist... it goes with everything.

What's in my Bag | Summer Travel Must-Haves, What I'm Reading + More

Happy Monday! With another holiday weekend approaching us, I thought I'd share some summer must-haves that I'm packing for most every trip. We head to the beach on Friday so I'm sharing what's in my bag; from summer wardrobe staples, to accessories that go with everything, to summer skincare & what's on my reading list.

SUMMER STAPLES
Ruffled, scalloped, striped bathing suits! Because you obviously need a cute suit for the beach. I've linked several favorites below.

Distressed denim shorts.

SUNDRESSES. I LIVE in dresses in the summer because they're easy, breathable and cute and all the things. Here are my current favorites, most of which I'm packing as we speak.

A great, stylish, comfortable flip flop. My favorites are definitely splurge-worthy, but worth it in my opinion because I've tried on SO MANY FLIP FLOPS that are uncomfortable, don't last long, and feel too casual to wear with a sundress. But, I've linked some more affordable options below, too.

FAVORITE ACCESSORIES
I am all about a statement earring. I have found myself packing just a few statement earrings and one long gold necklace that goes with everything when I travel. The earrings take up way less space than a big chunky necklace, and I can always throw the necklace on in addition to the earrings, or wear it alone for a more casual, understated look. THIS is my favorite gold necklace right now because you can wear it 5 different ways.

SUMMER SKINCARE
I recently started using TULA skincare and have fallen in love. I started out with this mini set to try, and then moved to the full size stuff. I am especially obsessed with this Pro-Glycolic 10% PH Resurfacing Gel

One beauty item I CANNOT live without (year-round, but especially in the summer!)? NARS Velvet Matte Skin Tint. I use this as a tinted moisturizer daily under makeup, and as my sunscreen at the beach. It gives you a little coverage, dewy glow, and doesn't look greasy or shiny like sunscreen. If you haven't tried this stuff, YOU ARE MISSING OUT. (I use the color 'Groenland')

Clinique Chubby Sticks. The perfect amount of moisture, perfect for throwing in your beach bag or purse! My current favorite color is "Chunky Cherry"

WHAT I'M READING
I am a murder mystery girl through and through. I have always wanted to be a detective or crime scene investigator (ha)... give me a good murder story Gone Girl / Girl on the Train style, and I'll finish it in one day. I also love the Emily Griffin type beach reads! Here are some books that I've already read, and am planning to read on my summer trips.

A GREAT BEACH BAG
A cute straw tote that can serve as both a carry-on travel bag AND a beach bag is a necessity. I've linked all my faves for ya!
