Tie-Front Tops

Happy Tuesday! Today I'm sharing one of my favorite spring trends, tie-front blouses. I always love tying up a button-down or tee in front for a different look, but I've recently found some that are actually MADE to tie. This is amazing because it takes less effort, and makes it a lot less awkward (AKA accidentally showing midriff through your DIY knot). This puts a new "twist" (pun intended) on a classic chambray and I love it!

I also love how many of these tops are higher in the front and longer in the back, making them perfect for pairing with higher waisted pants or shirts.

I think it's acceptable to wear white denim all year long, but now that spring is here it is OFFICIALLY acceptable. I paired this top with my favorite white jeans, easy + lightweight earrings, plus bangles + espadrilles for an easy springy look.

My particular top has sold out :( but not to worry - there are plenty to be had! I've linked all my favorites below ::

Trendy Tuesday | Mules + Clogs... Love or Loathe?

Happy Tuesday! I have to admit... I have not been a huge fan of the mule/clog trend coming back into play this season. BUT as I've been shopping around, I discovered that there are some really cute styles coming out, and I love the idea of being able to slip something on so easily. I am now on the mule bandwagon *AS LONG AS they are done right* (and this is the key)! It can be hard to know whether or not something is cute when you try it on in a store. So, I'm sharing my favorite styles for all you who have been wanting to test out the mule trend but not sure if you can pull it off. Trust me when I say... if I can, you can!

Β

A couple things I've found that I love about mules ::

- They are easy to throw on and can be dressed up + down
- They are perfect for going from season to season; winter to spring, summer to fall, fall to winter
- Many of them are platforms so they are COMFY
- They give you added height without being a pump or heel that makes you feel too "dressy"
- Wear them with anything! From ripped jeans, to flares, to leggings, dresses, skirts & more

These from Anthro (on sale) are more of a true "clog" in my opinion, but I kind of love them. I've found lots of super cute mule styles as well, and I've linked them all (including the ones I'm wearing) below. Are you jumping on the mule bandwagon this season? I'd love to hear your thoughts!

Fall Trend Try-On with DSW

Happy Tuesday! Today I'm partnering up with DSW for a fun "fall trend try-on." SO many of my clients are unsure as to whether or not they can "pull off" booties. I'm here to tell you you CAN, and I'm stepping a little bit outside my comfort zone with some trendy styles I might not normally try.

Head to DSW Buckhead on October 27th to get trendy and try some new styles for yourself! You will earn 500 points just for every pair you try (1500 points = $10 certificate), AND for every pair of shoes tried on, you'll be entered to win 1 of 2 $100 DSW gift cards! Check out all the trends HERE, and see my picks below.

The three styles I picked were...

1) New Western
2) Scallop
3) Mixed Media/Western

...and I'm here to tell you why I love them all.

NEW WESTERN | I have never been into Western style boots because a lot of times I feel like they can look a little cheesy / cheap. Enter, the New Western bootie. I love so many things about this bootie; the fact that it's a slip-on, which is unique in and of itself, makes it so easy to throw on. The heel height is perfect and the cutout on the ankle is ultra-flattering! Perfect with distressed jeans and a cozy sweater.

SCALLOP | I am always drawn to scallops; on clothes, accessories and shoes. The scallop trend is super in right now and when I spotted these beauties, I knew I wanted them. The pointed to bootie is something that's a little new for me. I usually stick to something that's more in the middle of rounded & pointed, but I actually love these. They are ultra-comfortable and can also fall into that New Western category. The color is yummy and these are my new go-to casual booties.

MIXED MEDIA | This is something I have seen a lot of with blouses and clothing, but just now starting to see with booties. I am OBSESSED with these because they are so high-fashion and super easy to dress up or down. These are going to be my go-to booties with tights and dresses all fall and winter long. Perfect for parties, nights out, etc. I love the calf hair back and the suede fronts. Once again, you see the pointed toe, which I feel like dresses them up a good bit and sets them apart from other black booties.

tuesday's trend alert :: neons

Happy Tuesday! I hope everyone had a wonderful Easter weekend with friends and family. The weather was absolutely gorgeous {here in Atlanta, at least} and my hubby and I had such a relaxing weekend, our first in awhile without any set plans or places to be. Aren't those kinds of weekends so nice & refreshing?!

Tuesday's trend alert highlights bright neons and how to wear them. NEON is a scary word. It means bold, bright and sometimes obnoxious. But what you pair neon with is key. Here are two of my favorite neon outfits I've pulled out for spring thus far ::

This neon pink floral top from Anthropologie mixes perfectly with a mustard/sunflower blazer. A bright springy outfit without being obnoxious.

Kendra Scott Skylar Earring, $65

Stella & Dot Norah Cuff, $79

Stella & Dot Palm Springs Scarf, $59

So don't be afraid to brighten up your wardrobe with a little pop of neon! As long as you're balancing it out with a complimentary color or neutral, you can rock it with confidence.
