TGIT! Early access for the Nordstrom Sale ends TODAY, y'all! I'm sharing more favorites, so jump on them because they certainly won't last long after the sale opens to everyone. Once again I'm wishing summer away and ready to pull on my boots scarves, leggings and more for fall. I probably shouldn't be so hasty as it's only mid-July {wahh!} Okay, enough chit chat. the vest :: your #1 layering piece

TGIF and Happy Halloween! The weekend will close out October and bring in the colder temps... I'll be ready for the temperature change with my absolute favorite layering piece for this time of year :: the vest. The vest is an absolute NECESSITY in your fall wardrobe, and I can promise you'll find yourself reaching for it on a daily basis.

Another favorite thing of mine? Chartreuse. Y'all, I'm pretty sure that chartreuse is the new black these days. At least it is in my book. It's such a pretty color; adding a pop without being too bright, a tone that can air on both the warm and cool ends of the spectrum. If you think you can't do chartreuse, at least give it a try. You might be surprised. This J.Crew vest is my new go-to; layering over everything from dresses, to tops, to tees and more. Today I'm bringing you two looks featuring this new favorite of mine. In stores and online now, so you can snag it for yourself!Try it with an all black outfit, like this LOFT lace sleeve tee and J.Crew pixies. My violet Loren Hope 'Blythe' bauble compliments the chartreuse pretty perfectly, if I do say so myself.

OR, make it a little more casual with your favorite chambray.

Vest it up this weekend! Experiment with different ways to maximize the things in your wardrobe by adding a vest. You'll soon be finding you can't live without it.

cuffing your jeans

Good morning and happy Tuesday! I'm taking a quick break from puppy fever -- have you SEEN our new baby?! Okay, I'll show you... ...now that you have your puppy fix, let's talk about cuffing your jeans. It's an easy way to amp up the versatility of your jeans and give yourself a new look. Cuffing also allows you to make your jeans the correct length if they're too long, and make them a little more casual if you're going for that look.{Paige skyline skinny, Tory Burch wedge - on sale!}

Typically I like to do one cuff - about 2-3 inches wide so that your jeans hit at your ankle bone. But, cuffing is totally up to your taste. You can roll them twice, or just do one small cuff. Just make sure your jeans are hitting right around your ankle bone and not much higher.

So don't be afraid to cuff your skinny jeans and divert from your normal denim look. They can go from day to night and are great with a ballet flat, wedge or sandal.

Happy Wednesday! Today I'm bringing you a style staple that can go year-round :: the shirtdress. This casually chic and effortless look is perfect for throwing on in a jiffy while also looking polished put-together. I'm particularly loving this chambray stripe shirtdress from Loft right now. It's so Nantucket-esque, which just so happens to be my favorite place on Earth. So it's only fitting that I snatched it up!

The shirtdress is great by itself, but belt it around the small of your waist if you want to draw it in a bit; especially if your shirtdress is a bit more billowy.

Chambray is the perfect neutral color, especially for the summer and fall. The nautical stripe adds that little extra something.

It's all about the accessories! Chambray is perfect for adding a bright pop of color.And don't be afraid to stack on the bangles, link bracelets and more! These Kendra Scott jewels paired perfectly with the basic shirtdress ::

the perfect year-round pant

Happy Tuesday! I apologize for the delay in blogging. Monday is always such a catch-up day that sometimes, it gets away from me! Needless to say, I'm back and ready to bring you some inspiration for the perfect year-round pant! There are so many "rules" when it comes to pants :: you can't wear white jeans in the winter, a dark wash in the summer feels to dark and winter-y, etc. Today I'm going to talk about a shade that falls perfectly into every season - Olive Green. It's a neutral, yet lighter than a dark wash denim and darker than a white jean! It goes with everything and gives your look a bit of edge. My favorites are by far these Slim Illusion Ankle Skinnys by 7 For All Mankind in Olive Green.
