It's almost the weekend {yay!} so let's have a little fun. Today I'm spotlighting one of my favorite new brands, Kendra Scott. You've probably heard of her jewelry and seen her famous and unique pieces around town. She's done a great job with her branding; her designs are recognizable and coveted. Let's call her the Tory Burch of jewelry, shall we?

I have found myself accessorizing with her jewelry almost every day. The Rayne tassel necklace is the perfect addition to any of your blousey tops, and the Harlow is the perfect statement piece. Kendra Scott bangles have become my everyday stacking pieces. Oh, and can we talk about the earrings? I could go on and on.

One of the main things I love about her pieces is the TONE of the metal. Many golds can be too yellow-y or overly brassy. Her gold pieces are just the right tone and hue to compliment most all skintones.

THE RAYNE

The Kendra Scott 'Rayne' tassel necklace comes in way more colors than I can count and is the perfect staple long necklace. Every woman should have two types of long gold necklaces in their closet :: neutral + a pop of color. This rose quartz rayne has become my go-to neutral, while I swap between the magenta and neon yellow for the perfect pop of color.

THE HARLOW

The Harlow is Kendra Scott's signature statement piece. I love the way the stones fall on your neck; it is the perfect size and length and is sure to add that extra something to any outfit.

THE DANIELLE EARRINGS + JORDANA BANGLES + CASSIE BRACELET

How 'bout these statement earrings? I love this pop of pink as it pairs well with an array of cool tones in your closet. You can even add these to an all black outfit for a dramatic effect. Not to mention these bangles have become my favorite new stacking pieces. Add to your watch, wear by themselves, or stack with other bracelets, like the Cassie.

cuffing your jeans

Good morning and happy Tuesday! I'm taking a quick break from puppy fever -- have you SEEN our new baby?! Okay, I'll show you... ...now that you have your puppy fix, let's talk about cuffing your jeans. It's an easy way to amp up the versatility of your jeans and give yourself a new look. Cuffing also allows you to make your jeans the correct length if they're too long, and make them a little more casual if you're going for that look.{Paige skyline skinny, Tory Burch wedge - on sale!}

Typically I like to do one cuff - about 2-3 inches wide so that your jeans hit at your ankle bone. But, cuffing is totally up to your taste. You can roll them twice, or just do one small cuff. Just make sure your jeans are hitting right around your ankle bone and not much higher.

So don't be afraid to cuff your skinny jeans and divert from your normal denim look. They can go from day to night and are great with a ballet flat, wedge or sandal.

Happy Monday! I'm taking a break from house renovations to tell you about a must-have in your closet. I have been eyeing this Clare V. clutch for some time now, and it's no secret that I have a slight {okay, large} love affair with leopard. the babydoll top

Happy Monday, y'all! It seems like I've been all about tops lately... and there's nothing wrong with that! Whether you have your go-to neutral bottoms or like to play around with colors or patterns, you can always use your tops in new and versatile ways.

Today we're talking about the babydoll top. Now that I've mentioned the word "babydoll," many of you want to stop right there and close this window. Please don't! You can rock the babydoll top no matter what age or size you are. You just have to do it right. This top is perfect for hiding insecurities {ahem...mid-section} while still looking stylish and put-together. Two rules when it comes to babydoll styles ::

1) Make SURE you wear a skinny pant on bottom

...unless you are tucking or half-tucking your top, in which case you should still wear a more fitted pant like a straight leg. No wide-leg pants with this style; the flowy top paired with flowy bottoms creates an overall sloppy and bulky look. It's all about balance, people.

2) Make sure the top hits at your pocket line or below. Preferably below.

I stumbled across this top at Old Navy {yes, Old Navy!} and snatched it up. It was the last one in store and I can understand why! There are times when you score an item at Old Navy that doesn't look like an Old Navy find... this is one of those times.

pretty in pleats :: the accordion top

Today I'm introducing you to one of my new best friends, the accordion top. The pleats add a fun detail and I love the cut of this top. It flatters virtually every body type and shows off your shoulders at the right spot. The best part about accordion tops? The pleats stay perfectly and you don't have to worry your pretty little head about wrinkles. If that isn't music to your ears {especially you moms!} I don't know what is. I paired this hot pink number with a simple black pant + my favorite leopard clutch {coming up on the blog soon}Hot pink + neon yellow pair perfectly together. colorblocking

Happy Monday, y'all! Let's dive right into today's blog post on :: COLORBLOCKING. The colorblocking trend has been around for awhile now and you've probably seen it in dresses, shirts and more. So let's put a twist on the typical trend with DIY colorblocking. {click on the links throughout the post to shop my look piece by piece}I paired a radiant orchid tee with some bright peachy coral pants. Choose colors that are close in tones to one another, but different enough to create a big contrast. For example, choosing warm colors for both top + bottom like I did here.These Vince Camuto Side Zip Ankle Pants in Papaya are perfect for work + play. A flattering tapered leg and breathable fabric make them a year-round staple.

You can score my JCrew radiant orchid tee {on SALE!} here. It's soft and comfy and perfect for dressing up and down. You can also add in a pop of opposite tone {in this case, a cooler tone with a chartreuse scarf} to finish off the outfit if you're feeling bold.

When you already have so much color, stick to basic accessories. White statement earrings, a long tassel necklace and my favorite stacking bangles are perfect compliments.

And of course, few of my outfits are complete without a subtle pop of leopard. My skinny leopard belt is a wardrobe staple and I added it here for a little break in between the two colors.

the linen blazer

Happy Monday! It's almost August which means we'll be starting that summer to fall transition in just a few short months. Over the next few weeks, I'll be sharing style tips and suggestions to help you do it seamlessly and in ways you may not have thought. Today I'm talking about the linen blazer. Blazers can often be hot and heavy, especially your basic black. Transition your top half from season to season with a lightweight linen blazer; your bottom half can follow suit {see what I did there?!} when the cool is here to stay! Try a linen blazer in a lighter color; like a chambray, chartreuse or poppy red.

I love my sunflower yellow blazer {last season from LOFT} but I also love something about the collarless jacket. It adds a little bit of femininity and less structure to it, so it's perfect for taking from work to play. This one fits the bill, and this color is great on every skin tone ::

The linen blazer is perfect for throwing on during those in-between hot and cool months with a pair of shorts and a tank or even over a dress / skirt for work. How about a datenight?Roll your sleeves up exposing the inner lining for a more fun, casual and easy look. I love a good patterned blazer, like this one from Anthropologie ::

How about a simple chambray? It's more casual for those of you who don't see a need for a blazer in your wardrobe. It can act as more of a lightweight jacket while giving you the polished look of a blazer.Try it in a light wash or dark wash depending on your preference, like these ::

Happy Hump Day! Today we're talking a summertime must-have :: the leopard sandal. You've heard me say it before that you can absolutely use leopard as a neutral. It's true! nordstrom anni sale :: my favorite picks

It's that time of year again... the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale {Early Access} is here! For those of you who know about this sale, you know why there is a line forming outside of the doors at 10am on the first day. And for those of you who don't know about it, that should pretty much sum it up. During the Anniversary Sale, Nordstrom marks down TONS of fall {and more} clothing, shoes, and accessories before the fall season starts; great deals and huge savings! I shopped this sale with three clients yesterday and came up with a list of my favorite items. So today you're in luck; I'm sharing it with you!

Keep in mind, you must have a Nordstrom Card {credit or debit} to begin shopping the sale early access now, both online & in stores. It does not open to the public until July 18 {yes, they actually have all of the merchandise into a secret tent that you may not enter without a card}, so you still have a week! the shirtdress

Happy Wednesday! Today I'm bringing you a style staple that can go year-round :: the shirtdress. This casually chic and effortless look is perfect for throwing on in a jiffy while also looking polished put-together. I'm particularly loving this chambray stripe shirtdress from Loft right now. It's so Nantucket-esque, which just so happens to be my favorite place on Earth. So it's only fitting that I snatched it up!

The shirtdress is great by itself, but belt it around the small of your waist if you want to draw it in a bit; especially if your shirtdress is a bit more billowy.

Chambray is the perfect neutral color, especially for the summer and fall. The nautical stripe adds that little extra something.
