Happy Tuesday, y'all! From now on my dedicated blog posting days will be Tuesdays and Thursdays, and whenever else I can manage in between. But, know that there will always be a new post up every Tuesday and Thursday! Today I'm sharing a brand with you that I absolutely love, and you probably know this if you follow along with me on instagram. I came across Hearne Dry Goods Co. a couple months ago and fell in love with their jewelry. They also have an awesome, sweet mission behind their jewelry that I love supporting. I now own several of their pieces and they stay on rotation in my closet; I get so many compliments on them and the leather earbobs make for great gifts!
Here's a little bit about the brand:
'Designer Leigh Hillenmeyer proudly named her jewelry line βHearne Dry Goods Companyβ after her great-great-grandfatherβs family business. After its opening in 1902, HDGC quickly became a beloved staple in Shreveport, Louisiana. Customers would flock from all around the region to park their model Ts outside the storefront and peruse the fabrics, lace, and fine china held within those painted brick walls.
Now well over a century later, the name Hearne Dry Goods Company is resurrected with a multi-purpose. In a nod to the rugged textiles of yesteryear, Leigh crafts necklaces inspired by her fatherβs nylon sailing straps and a variety of other preppy yet boho chic accouterments. And, as tribute to her forefatherβs commitment to fostering community both near and far, a portion of all proceeds support a community health clinic in Lwala, Kenya (www.lwalacommunityalliance.org).
With unique vision, Leigh is connecting Louisianaβs past with Lwalaβs future, one necklace at a time.'
