The Perfect Work Pant + Why You Need a 'Work' Vest

Happy Tuesday, y'all! Today we're talking workwear. I have found the perfect work pant - SO cute year-round, scalloped hem, & a budget-friendly price tag ($34.50!!) - plus they come in both black AND red!  I'm also here to tell you why you can benefit from a "work" vest! You know I think every woman should have a vest in their closet, but did you know you can utilize one for work, too? I love a good duster/trench vest because it serves the same purpose as a blazer, but can be worn into the spring and summer when you don't necessarily need a blazer. It's also great for going from the office to dinner or drinks and not looking as business-y.

I've linked my full outfit, plus some of my favorite work vests below!

Gushing over Gingham

Happy Monday! I've always been a big fan of gingham because it never, ever goes out of style. Today I'm sharing my favorite gingham items with you. Anyone else gushing over gingham, too?

I'm in love with this gingham top that has these tiered, scalloped sleeves. Perfect with jeans, white jeans, black pants, etc.

My Favorite Jackets for Spring Layering

This season I am loving layers more than ever. There are so many cute jackets that are perfect for layering ontop of tanks, tops, dresses, jumpsuits and more! They allow you to start wearing your spring things now, even though the weather isn't quite warm enough yet. Today I'm sharing all my favorite jackets in stores right now. If you love layering, this post is for you!

...from top left to bottom right:

This blush anorak (doesn't provide much warmth but is so cute on a dreary day over any top!)

I need a new jean jacket this year so this is the one I ordered.

This blush tencel utility jacket is SOO soft and cute. I love it over some feminine florals

How cute is this flare sleeve utility jacket?! I love anything 3/4 sleeve and this flare makes it extra girly. Love!

This ruffle chino jacket! So cute. Need it! (plus, 30% off today!)

Can't go wrong with a knit blazer! Great for more casual work environments, or just to wear over a tee shirt or tank around town. I especially love the stripes.

I have this faux leather jacket and wear it alllll the time. It is super flattering and great over dresses!

...Can you tell I'm on a pink kick?! I recently got this mauve collarless quilted jacket and it is ALL THE THINGS. I'm obsessed - it's so soft, flattering and goes over everything. It's a must in my book!

Can't go wrong with a classic "jackie" jacket. I love the color on this one and think it would be so pretty over an all black outfit.

The Wrap Dress

Happy Tuesday! Bringing you a sunny look from sunny Florida today! This yellow wrap dress is all the things - flattering, bright, affordable and girly. I love the ruffle detailing, the wrap dress that actually stays wrapped and you don't have to worry about it coming undone. These wrap dresses are super on-trend right now which means there's tons of them in stores! I've linked up all my favorites, including the one I'm wearing, below.

Scallops + Stripes

Hey friends! Happy Hump Day! This week I'm bringing you an extra blog post to share this cute outfit from The Red Dress Boutique. You know I'm all about spring things, and I'm also all about detailing - fringe, scallops, poms, you name it. I shopped at The Red Dress in Athens while at UGA, so when they asked me to partner up with them on a fun spring look, I was totally on board! I obviously had to incorporate these scalloped jeans... I have so many regular skinny jeans so I love that these are cropped and kick out at the bottom. I love the scallop hem... and it got me thinking... I could probably DIY this on some of my jeans that are too long at the bottom! I think I'll give it a go, so I'll keep you posted.

Anyways, back to the topic at hand. This top is so lightweight, pretty and flattering. It is tunic length so it's great with leggings, or tying with higher-waisted pants like I did here. I love anything black and white that's simple enough to pair with everything. These red earrings are to die for, too.

And to top it off, the cutest pom pom straw tote! This is coming to the beach with me next week but it also makes for a cute spring bag no matter what you're carrying around.

A big thanks to Red Dress Boutique for sponsoring this post!

Spring Pillow Refresh + Giveaway

Happy Monday, y'all! How amazing was the weather here in Georgia yesterday? It had me SO excited for spring and all the spring things to wear. I also made some little spring refreshes to my home over the weekend. I love changing things like pillows and accessories to make my house feel lighter, brighter and cleaner. Out with the dark winter-y accents, in with the light and airy details! One of my favorite ways to change the look of a room in my house is by switching out the pillows; it's an easy, cost-effective solution. While I love finding pillows at places like HomeGoods, you can't always find the exact color, quantity, or quality you're looking for. That's when I take to Etsy! I have been following Aurelia on Etsy and Instagram for some time now because she uses the coolest designer fabrics. It's like buying designer pillows at a fraction of what you'd pay in a high-end retail store!

I bought this new rug a few months ago and love the navy and blush tones in it. I decided to play on those colors in the accents in my living room, so when I found these blush Hill Brown Macau Fret pillows and navy Brunschwig & Fils pillows I knew they'd be perfect! The quality is great and the fabric is sturdy.

Now for the fun part...
Today I'm partnering up with Aurelia for a G I V E A W A Y ! I have been obsessed with these Chiang Mai pillows (pictured here in my dining room) by Schumacher for a long time now. They are the most fun, unique pop of color to any room! (scroll all the way to the bottom for how to enter)

You can win this pair of 20" x 20" pillow covers by following these steps:

1.  Follow me and Aurelia on instagram
2. Head to my recent photo and comment with which room or space you'd use these beauties in, AND tag THREE (3) friends!

Winner will be announced on Thursday, 2/22

Bags to Blush Over

Happy Thursday! I had a request recently to share some blush bag suggestions. So, here it is! I love a blush bag because you can wear it ALL YEAR LONG. It's such a soft, pretty color that's majorly on trend this spring so there are SO many options out there! Here are my favorites for anyone in the market for a new bag! From budget-friendly buys to splurges, totes to cross-bodies... I've got you covered.

Spotlight on : Hearne Dry Goods Co.

Happy Tuesday, y'all! From now on my dedicated blog posting days will be Tuesdays and Thursdays, and whenever else I can manage in between. But, know that there will always be a new post up every Tuesday and Thursday! Today I'm sharing a brand with you that I absolutely love, and you probably know this if you follow along with me on instagram. I came across Hearne Dry Goods Co. a couple months ago and fell in love with their jewelry. They also have an awesome, sweet mission behind their jewelry that I love supporting. I now own several of their pieces and they stay on rotation in my closet; I get so many compliments on them and the leather earbobs make for great gifts!
Here's a little bit about the brand:

'Designer Leigh Hillenmeyer proudly named her jewelry line β€œHearne Dry Goods Company” after her great-great-grandfather’s family business. After its opening in 1902, HDGC quickly became a beloved staple in Shreveport, Louisiana. Customers would flock from all around the region to park their model Ts outside the storefront and peruse the fabrics, lace, and fine china held within those painted brick walls.
Now well over a century later, the name Hearne Dry Goods Company is resurrected with a multi-purpose. In a nod to the rugged textiles of yesteryear, Leigh crafts necklaces inspired by her father’s nylon sailing straps and a variety of other preppy yet boho chic accouterments. And, as tribute to her forefather’s commitment to fostering community both near and far, a portion of all proceeds support a community health clinic in Lwala, Kenya (www.lwalacommunityalliance.org).
With unique vision, Leigh is connecting Louisiana’s past with Lwala’s future, one necklace at a time.'

And here are just a few of my favorite pieces:

Springy Things

It's Friday! YAY! I am working all weekend but it's still Friday which makes me happy. What also makes me happy is all the spring things in stores right now. We've gotten little bits of spring weather here in Atlanta - sunny and 60 - I'll take it! Today I wanted to share this floral blouse (you may have seen it on my insta-stories) and the cutest blush windbreaker. These are things you can wear now and take into spring effortlessly!

This blouse is one of those Loft finds that doesn't look like it's from Loft. It's so pretty, a silky fabric, flattering cut and reminds me of an Anthro find. I love everything about it! Wear it now under a sweater vest or jacket, and take it into spring.

This blush anorak is SO CUTE. I love the color and it's super lightweight. Wear it over a sweater now and take it into spring over any top or dress. Size down - I'm wearing an XS.

Shop the full look below, and have a great weekend!

Combatting Winter Skin

Happy rainy Wednesday, y'all! If you live in Atlanta, how AMAZING was the weather yesterday? It's funny how right after the holidays are done, I am so OVER winter but we still have months left. Yesterday felt more like spring and it was A-OK with me! Today I'm talking about combatting dry, dull winter skin during these colder, drier months. If you're like me, your skin gets SUPER dry in the winter. I also feel like I get to a point where I'm lacking so much color that there is no brightness or color in my face at all. Here are a few things I've been doing this winter to combat those things...

1 | Micro-needling
Y'all... this was a game changer for me. I've never done micro-needling before but I have several acne scars on my face that have always bothered me, along with pretty uneven skintone. Basically I have never been one of those people who felt like they could leave the house without at least a little makeup. This micro-needling treatment at Youthtopia MedSpa was incredible and it's been almost 3 weeks since I did it now and my skin is SO much more even, absorbs my products better, my acne scars are now hardly noticeable my skin just FEELS better. I plan to do this every couple of months because I can't tell you how much of a difference it made! There's a little video for you below (please don't be frightened by my appearance! Ignore my massive double chin... I'm telling myself it's because of the terrible angle but I probably need to start doing chin sculpting exercises...)
*If you're interested in any of their treatments, mention my name and get $25 off!*

2 | This Countermatch serum
I've used this so much in the last couple months, I'm already ready for a refill. It feels good, smells good and is light on your skin while also being deeply moisturizing.

3 | Self-tanner to the rescue!
If you need some color, self-tanner to the rescue! I have tried so many of these - pricey and drugstore brands - and my favorite since college is Neutrogena Micro-Mist. They've recently redone their scent to not smell so self-tanner-y which is great. I get the 'medium' color and I spray it all over my body after the shower each day until I get the color I want. It doesn't take long! For your face, just spray in your hands and rub all over your face. I have also heard great things about this Clarins product that I plan to try!

4 | GLOPro
This is like a very 'mini' version of micro-needling that you can do at home a few times a week. I do it all over my face 2-3 nights a week after cleansing and before applying my products. It has worked wonders on my skin!

5 | Mario Badescu Facial Spray
I got this as a gift and it is incredible. I spray it on my face a couple times throughout the day - under makeup or ontop. It immediately refreshes my skin and adds moisture to it, giving a glowy, bright dewy feel. You can't beat the price tag on this one!

Have any of y'all tried micro-needling? What are your favorite winter skin remedies? I'd love to hear them!
