Today I’m sharing some of my absolute favorite things I bought in 2019 (some of them include Christmas gifts I received, too!) So here goes…
1) Revlon Blow One-Step Hair Dryer and Volumizer : Harrison bought me the DryBar DoubleShot for Christmas (total surprise to me) and I was thrilled! However, when I saw the price tag, I really wondered whether there was a big difference between the Revlon one (basically 1/3 the price of DryBar). And once I told Harrison about this lesser-cost version, he was all about me doing some research. I watched numerous YouTube videos where they did one side of their hair with the Revlon, the other with Dry Bar, and EVERY ONE recommended the Revlon. It even showed - the ends of the hair done with the DoubeShot were frizzier, it didn’t put out as much heat, and for me, it got stuck in my hair as I tried to pull it through. I totally agreed with the reviews and ended up taking the DryBar version back. The Revlon is LIFE. CHANGING. It is my new favorite thing ever, and I hope this has convinced you to get one. If you are at all familiar with round-brushing your hair, you’re totally capable of using this. It eliminated the need for a blowdryer, and makes it so much easier for travel. TRUST ME. It is amazing! Rant over.
2) Sam Edelman Flats : I’ve always been more of a pointed-toe flat girl because they make your legs look longer, but I also really appreciate the classic look of a Chanel-esque flat. I first bought these in leopard and then went back for the nude version because they are SO COMFORTABLE. And, they’re not like a true rounded-toe flat, more like a narrow version. If you have wider feet like me, you can still fit in them and they aren’t super unflattering like many rounded-toe flats. Size up 1/2 size!
3) Demi-boot Crop jeans : My fave blogger Liz Adams posted about them, and they did not let me down! They are incredibly flattering, great with more fitted tops or looser sweaters, and a perfect alternative to the classic super skinny jean. I have worn them with booties, flats and heels. They are SO comfortable and really suck you in in all the right places! I am normally a 26/27 and I got the 26.. so air on the side of smaller.
4) Overnight Resurfacing Peel : You may have heard me rave about this before, but this product is life-changing! I use it 3-4 times per week before bed, and I see major differences in my skin. It helps even things out, reduce dark spots, and just make your skin overall more glow-y and refreshed. It lasts a super long time and is safe for pregnancy & breast-feeding . WIN WIN WIN!
5) This crossbody bag : This is my go-to for any night out (or day out) when I don’t need my diaper bag. Since having a baby and having to tote around all that sh** all day every day, I am so much more minimal when I head out solo; all I need and want is something that looks good, will hold my keys, wallet, phone and lipstick. This has a Gucci-esque feel without the price tag, and is just big enough to fit all the important stuff.
6) Cover FX Power Play Concealer : Another rec from Liz Adams! I love my Beautycounter concealer, but it sometimes isn’t quite opaque enough for under-eye coverage. I wanted something that was clean but also heavy duty for the bags under my eyes. The Cover FX is truly magical! I wear the ‘N Light 1’ shade.
7) Puff-Sleeve Tee : This is an amazing amazon find! (see my stories for try-on) and I bought it in three colors (I sized up to a medium). It is ultra-flattering and great for tucking in. I love the puff sleeves and the quality is great for the price tag!
8) My champagne bottle earrings and my Hart Studio tassel earrings : I love and wear both of these so often! I wear my champagne earrings on any special occasion and they are always so much fun (they have a Mignonne feel, but a fraction of the price tag).I love my Hart earrings and want about 200 more colors for every day wear. They are so lightweight and versatile!
9) THE Amazon Leggings : It’s true what the other 138975739 bloggers say - these are BETTER THAN LULU LEMON. It took me awhile to try them out, but I can say I am beyond obessed and I have already bought three pairs. I want to replace every black legging in my drawer with these! Flattering, comfortable, perfect high rise, pockets… what more could you WANT.
10) Pearl Headbands : These were another Amazon find! I wear them all the time and they are amazing quality for the price. Also comfortable for all-day wear!
11) This vest/wrap : I am all about layering and I love how versatile this is - I wear it all the time, over tops, dresses, sweaters etc. This is also great because it’s structured enough to dress up for work, yet cozy and comfortable for casual wear.
12) Tommy John Second Skin Bra : I’ve been getting Harrison the Tommy John boxers for awhile now, and when I saw they had a bra, I had to try it. I HATE underwire and definitely needed a new size (thanks breastfeeding!) so Harrison got me this for Christmas. It is well worth the hype and the price! I wear it every day and I sometimes forget I am wearing a bra. Best thing ever!
